SECRETS OF THE JEDI Hints the First Jedi Didn’t Follow the Light Side Of The Force

The compendium Secrets of the Jedi revealed very interesting information about the Prime Jedi

The compendium Secrets of the Jedi revealed very interesting information about the Prime Jedi, who is referenced in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

When you find Luke Skywalker on Ach-To in the first Jedi Temple, there is a mural there featuring the Prime Jedi, the founder of the Jedi Order. He is depicted as part of an unknown race and wielding a proto-lightsaber. What is the most interesting aspect is the fact that Light and Dark are given equal attention on the mural.

Another book/audio drama, Dooku: Jedi Lost, referenced the balance of the Force being important to ancient Jedi:

“We call upon the three — light, dark, and balance true. One is no greater than the others. Together, they unite, restore, center, and renew. We walk into the light, acknowledge the dark, and find balance within ourselves. The Force is strong.”

Secrets of the Jedi by Marc Sumerak does a good job attesting the fact that the first Jedi were agents of balance. The book is “written” by Master Luke Skywalker himself, and it contains a lot of anecdotes and history of the Jedi Order.

Since in-universe Rey read the information contained in Secrets of the Jedi, it will be interesting to see if Rey’s new Jedi Order will follow the ancient teachings and be an agent of balance.
