STAR WARS: SQUADRONS Gameplay Footage Revealed at EA Play

The official Star Wars: Squadrons gameplay trailer has been revealed during the EA Play 2020 and it did not disappoint.

The time has come, Star Wars fans. The official Star Wars: Squadrons gameplay trailer has been revealed thanks to EA Play 2020, and it did not disappoint.

As expected, this game is focused on electrifying starfighter and space combat with many different game modes including both single-player and multiplayer options.

Star Wars: Squadrons will allow players to enter head-to-head matches online in the cockpit of their own personalized ship choosing from different classes depending on the side you choose: Empire or New Republic.

Different classes include “Fighters” which consists of TIE Fighters and X-Wings. Fighters are flexible, versatile and able to handle any type of situation. “Interceptors”, which include TIE Interceptors and A-Wings are known for being both fast and very maneuverable. “Supports” which keep your allies safe and stocked up include both U-Wings and TIE Reapers, and lastly, “Bombers”. These consist of TIE Bombers and Y-Wings that will be able to deal heavy damage toward opponent flagships and starfighters.

The choice will be yours and your teammates in what class to choose from.

One multiplayer mode mentioned includes “Dogfights,” which is a PvP 5v5 mode in which players go head-to-head with the goal of defeating the enemy team. Another multiplayer mode included will be “Fleet Battles,” which is a larger scale than Dogfights and includes the opportunity to work with others in various fights to reach the ultimate goal: destroy the opponent’s flagship.

Strategy is vital in this mode, and players must work together and demonstrate teamwork to both defend and attack the opposing team to achieve the ultimate victory.

Not only did we learn of the thrilling multiplayer options in this game, but we also got a first look at the single-player story in Star Wars: Squadrons. This story takes place right after the events of Return of the Jedi, and players will get the opportunity to create their own combat pilot and fight for both the New Republic and the Empire.

Within this single-player mode, players will be performing many different missions, alternating control on both sides. While playing, players will be flying in first-person and getting a very detailed flying experience. In your ship’s cockpit, you will receive critical feedback toward your flying, including power management, targeting, and shields.

As mentioned, this game will take place as a first-person experience and you will truly get to live and experience your space fights right within your cockpit.

Players will also get the opportunity to customize their own flying experience. You will be able to unlock and customize your ship with various cosmetics and accessories, as well as be able to customize your own character. Players will need to play the game and gain experience in order to receive cosmetics and earn higher rewards. Included is a variety of over 50 components that affect the way your ships fly that can be earned as well just through playing the game.

Star Wars: Squadrons will be releasing October 2, 2020 on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. According to EA, players will also be able to play on the VR component on both PC and PS4.

Star Wars: Squadrons will be set at a retail price of $39.99, and pre-orders are already currently available on GameStop, Microsoft, Origin, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
